Lavender is a wonderfully pungent herb, native to the Mediterranean. It produces a wonderful display of purple coloured flower spikes throught the summer months which are attrctive to all sorts of insect species. The flowers are highly valued for their aromatic perfume and have long been used to flavour sweet and savoury dishes. These pressed flowers are grey blue/purple and have a graceful shape with occasional leaves at the base of the stems.
