Primula vulgaris or Wild Primrose is native to the UK and derives its name from the Latin 'prima rosa' meaning 'first rose'. It is well known as one of the first wildflowers to bloom in the spring and can be seen growing in hedgerows, woodlands and wild meadows. Synonymous with femininty and fertility the flowers have a mild flavour. These beautiful flowers are pale yellow with darker centre. They are stightly translucent and look great overlapped. Highly variable in shape with a mix of thin and rounded petals which add to the wild appearance.
