Centaurea cyanus is our native cornflower that once grew as a weed in cornfields throughout the UK. It is now considered to be endangered in its native habitat due to the widespread use of industrial agricultural techniques. The beautiful flowers of this dark purple cultivated variety have a ring of colourful spiky petals and we harvest only these outer parts, ensuring the highest quality of colour. These completely edible petals can be used for decorating a wide range of cuisine from cakes to desserts.
